Are you kidding? We stay away from subjects that might hurt someone's feelings on the Fence Post. Unless of course these were Christian immigrants. Or ones who smoke. Or Republicans. Or Democrats. Or psychic immigrants. Or unless they threatened to shoot a border guard. Or they are pregnant teenage celebrity illegal immigrants. Or they support the war. Or they are opposed to the war. Or...

If by hurting people's feelings you mean we don't allow you to call people names or make disparing remarks and potentially damanging remarks about private individuals, then you are right, you aren't allowed to hurt people's feelings on the Fence Post.
But, if you mean that you are not allowed make posts that may challenge people's beliefs or respond to posts that cause your belifs to be challened and be cause for introspection and discussion, then no, you are not correct. It is encouraged. Challenging thoughts do not have to be mean spirited.
It's also very possible that the single post here occured in the midst of the barage of posts in another thread and caused this to not appear in the "recent posts" module for very long so people could take notice.

It doesn't sound like it is necessarily an economic conditions issues. My read on this was more along the lines of the government is cracking down on employers, creating an environment in which the costs of conducting business as they had in the past are now higher than the potential rewards.

Not a big fan of sarcasm I take it? The only point intended was to be humorous. When the subject of illegal immigration is broached, many run for the hills for fear of stepping on someone's toes. That's all. No need to read more into a silly comment than is actually there. Kinda proves my point though doesn't it?

Of course they don't have to be. They just often head down that road on the Fence Post of late.
