Wow what a game. An emotional roller-coaster. We finally got past our nemesis!

Can't wait for the Super Bowl. What a great matchup!

Super Colts!

I think that NFL needs to take Dungy's advise and play the Superbowl in Fort Wayne. I would even be okay with South Bend since there isn't any place to actually play in the Fort... Make it half way for both.

Unlike Illinois, which is nearly 100 percent behind the Bears, Indiana fans have divided loyalties in this Super Bowl. Northwest Indiana has never embraced the Colts like they have the Bears. And Rex Grossman, the Bears quarterback, who went to high school at Bloomington South, will have some fans in Bloomington rooting for him.

Grossman also has fans in Huntington. His grandfather, Rex Daniel Grossman, is the only Huntington native to play in the National Football League. The grandfather also was a star football player at Indiana University, kicking the winning field goal to beat Purdue in 1947.

Of course, the Bears’ backup quarterback, Brian Griese, is the son of NFL great Bob Griese, who was a native of Evansville and a star at Purdue. Brian’s late mother, Judi Lassus Griese, was a native of Fort Wayne. Brian was 12 when his mother died of cancer.

It was interesting to see a number of Bears fans at the Colts game in Indianapolis Sunday. Some of them, including Kendallville’s own Kelly Charles, were dressed in Bears attire.

While there are some divided loyalties in Indiana in the Super Bowl, most Hoosiers are proud of their state and certainly are behind the Colts.
