When people talk about local sports, often the talk is of what is going on at the local high school. There are a ton of sports going on outside of the schools all year round and for a wide range of ages and skill levels.

When we launched The Fence Post, back in January we also rolled out a site feature called My Communities. This is an area where we try to pull together our published content that is relevent to each local community. It is also a venue for the community to post stories and content about the topics and happenings that are of interest to them that the newspaper may simply not have had enough staff to cover.

I'd like to invite all parents and coaches of the athletes involved in all of the Summer (Fall, Winter, and Spring too) sports leagues (youth and adult) to start sending us photos, video, and stats or commentary from your games and matches. You can also use The Fence Post.

Take pictures with cameras or even cell phones - most have more than enough resolution to show up clearly online.

Stories and other content can be submitted using our story submission and news tip form which can be found here (http://www.fwdailynews.com/forms/newstips). You can also send photos and video by e-mail to our Online Editor, James Tew. His e-mail address is jamest@kpcnews.net.

Have a great season. I look forward to reading about it.

Don't forget:

for your puck-chuckin' needs. Apparently the CCC in Auburn isn't having a league again this summer, so The Plex is the place to go top shelf this summer. Or if you're in the mood for more casual shinny, Conoway's in Angola has pickup hockey every monday at 6:00pm.

One addition to Matt's note: Anything we get will be forwarded to the sports editors of the print editions, too, so coaches don't have to worry about having to send game results twice.
