I am a Marine Mom and this just breaks my heart! I just spent the last several minutes reading about SPC Hartge and the tears are just flowing. My Son finished his 4 yr enlistment in the Marine Corps on Monday and I thank God he did his time in Iraq and came back safely, but for the Moms (and Dad's) whose children do not, I extend my most sincere thanks to them for their ultimate sacrifice! Nobody should have to endure that kind of pain. My thoughts and prayers go to all of them.

The spontaneous tribute by Kendallville citizens and the downtown Kendallville merchants who temporarily closed their shops during the military funeral processional was impressive. We are a caring community.
