Re: Did a tornado hit Angola?

Ah ok. I suppose it would have made more sense if we saw construction vehicles around, but it was on a weekend and there were several houses with half the siding on them some were half gone and you...

    Did a tornado hit Angola?

A few weeks back, my wife and I were driving through some neighborhoods East of the circle and just a couple blocks away from the police station, south of US-20 - I remembered one of the roads was...

    Re: Slider's Country Bar

I wonder why that place keeps changing hands. It seems every time I come into town it has a new name, I can't keep up. Hopefully one of them sticks, it's a cool looking place inside.

Re: Hamilton Days - Garage Sales - when??

If you weren't aware, Hamilton Days are this coming weekend!! Anyone going? It's one of my favorite town-wide garage sales... And, when I get hot and tired = Lakers for a beer and lunch. :) ...
  5. Re: Anyone show the UFC fights in Angola or surrounding areas?

Now that UFC is a bit more popular, and now that Angola has a Buffalo Wild Wings - does anyone know if they show the UFC fights at the Angola BW's? or anywhere else for that matter? I imagine...

Re: What if Indiana went non-smoking?

Our laws are pretty strict. Even private clubs can't smoke. Not only that, there's a certain distance one has to be away from a business while smoking! In Toledo, this isn't the case, so you...

    What if Indiana went non-smoking?

Recently Michigan went non-smoking in public places. My wife and have been discussing all of the restaurants we can go back to now that they don't allow smoking. We have small children and began...

    Re: Acapulco Grill - Hamilton

Wanted to post an update on this. Went a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe it inside, the place was jam packed. People were on top of each other practically. But, same as the Angola location, the...

    Re: Angola Fall Festival

I'm not sure when we're going to go this year. Either way, a good part of my time will be spent in the adult beverage tent!

    Re: Acapulco Grill - Hamilton

Maybe we're not talking about the same location - the old Pier 32. I used to sit at the bar and look right out the window - 10 ft. from me was the lake. Could watch the sun set from there. Was the...

    Re: Acapulco Grill - Hamilton

Called Angola location. The girl that answered the phone said - Yes, when I asked her if the Hamilton location is open. By the sounds of it, her fluent language wasn't english, but I think she...

    Re: Acapulco Grill - Hamilton

Yeah, the supposedly moved into the old Pier 32. I figured I was the last to know. They have a location over by Lake James, that has been there probably 2 years. Very good food, comparable (some...

    Acapulco Grill - Hamilton

Just wondering if it's open. I had heard they bought it, but hadn't heard of an official opening or anything. I try and keep up on the Herald Republican, but I probably missed that day, if they did...

Awesome! Thanks everyone for the information. I wrote the school, who also confirmed games were open to the public, and suggested I call the athletic department for more information. I've left...

    Trine University Football

Has anyone ever been to a Trine football game? I dug around on their site, and there's nothing about ticket sales. Are the games open to the public? They have a "listen live" button, but again, I...
  17. Re: Last Call For The Season At Angola Motor Speedway

Wow! Yeah, we left around 10:30-11 p.m. after we were pretty well drenched. Cars were circling the track trying to keep it dry. Shortly after we left it seemed like it had stopped raining, so I...
  18. Re: Last Call For The Season At Angola Motor Speedway

So did anyone make it out over the weekend? Sunday night was great until it started raining. We waited it out a long time and ended up giving up. From the site though, it looks like they must have...
  19. Re: Last Call For The Season At Angola Motor Speedway

Ah, that explains it. I wonder why they made that decision? I'd guess the fear of not making enough in ticket sales.. but, there are some things that, regardless of $, people still do. I wonder...

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings - Angola, IN

I'd have to agree. Blazin is good, in small doses. I've heard some bdubs give prizes if you eat 10 or 12 of them at once. The one in my town doesn't.

And that is a sweet smoker in that video....

    Re: New BBQ!

Sweet baby rays is pretty overrated. It's good, but nothing compares to good locally made bbq sauce. Not only is it better than any commercial sauce, you're helping support a local business.

We bought some at the farmers market a couple weeks ago. We got the citrus chipotle. He said it would be good on chicken or shrimp, so we grilled both up. Covered the chicken in the sauce and...
  24. Re: Last Call For The Season At Angola Motor Speedway

Re: Buffalo Wild Wings - Angola, IN

Very hard to believe. This is a chain. They are stricter any any place I've been to as far as carding. If in fact this is true, then call and let the management know which days these "3 people"...
