In other words, the majority of spanish speaking hoosiers are Americans.
Thanks, James.
Here's what I could pull up from the US Census site:
In the 2000 census, 116,756 were counted in Indiana as "native" (people born in the United States, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Island Areas; as well as those born in a foreign country who had at least one parent who was a U.S. citizen) Spanish speakers. 68,820 were counted as "foreign-born." The census was supposed to be a count of illegal immigrants as well as legal; how successful it was in doing that is a matter of debate.

There was a lot of debate about this at the time the census was done, and as I recall the census department did build a certain amount of fudge factor into the numbers to take that sort of thing into account.
Regardless, those are the best numbers we have. Anything else is speculation.
fudge factor
Never did like fudge

I believe police officers should have to learn sign language and Spanish so they can sign to all the deaf hispanics that are in our area

Here ya go! If you have so much information about illegals and are afraid of talking about it on an open forum that may create lible, then do what a good citizen should do and report it to the proper people.
I am confused though... Are you making this statement to let everyone know that there are local employers that employ illegals or are you upset that the illegals are employed in poor conditions?
No, REFUSAL to identify is an offense. BIG DIFFERENCE!
IC 34-28-5-3.5
Refusal to identify self
Sec. 3.5. A person who knowingly or intentionally refuses to provide either the person's:
(1) name, address, and date of birth; or
(2) driver's license, if in the person's possession;
to a law enforcement officer who has stopped the person for an infraction or ordinance violation commits a Class C misdemeanor.
As added by P.L.1-1998, SEC.24
