Default Phillies Pitcher Victim of Prank

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick was the victim of a well-executed prank Saturday. Kendrick was called into manager Charlie Manuel's office where he was informed that he was traded to the Yomiuri Giants of the Japanese League.

I can't believe they made him go through with the press conference...

That may go down in history as one of the more involved practical jokes ever. I mean come on, they even got the press pulled together for a conference and they were obviously all in on it judging by their reactions at the end.

    Man, that was ruthless.

And he was traded for the hot dog eating champ. Even better.

I know I'm being a wetter blanket than Bush's after Laura got rid of the plastic sheets, but really... seriously... certainly the press has better things to do with its time than help people pull pranks?

I mean, didn't they already spend enough time pumping up false stories during the run up to the Iraq war?

If you look at the video, the original source is one of those 24-hour sports networks. They're usually desperate for content, and probably do NOT have anything better to do. Their other option is to re-run video of the 1984 Olympics.
