Exclamation Raised Median at 3 and 6

What is this? I know it's been up for a while... Since i work at mcdonalds, i have to bring it up. People who are going west on 6 go into the incoming traffic, just to get to mcdonalds. It's stupid that they put it up, but why would people want to go to that length just to get to mcdonalds. They could seriously get into a accident. I noticed, a lot of police have been watching them do this, and pull them over. If people would open their eyes, they could just keep going and go into the left turn lane, and go to our back entrance that noone seems to know about and easily get in line. We pull cars into the lane in front of the store, and people think it's a lane to get to the other side, but it isn't really. They sometimes wait there honking their horn at the person who's waiting for their food. Or, they turn and go through the incoming traffic just to get stuck again. I think they should have never put it up. Sorry for venting about work...

The way it was before, traffic backed up, sometimes blocking the intersection at Main Street, waiting for someone to try to cross two lanes of traffic. They needed to make it longer to deter the morons. Maybe you should put a message on the sign directing West bound people to use the other entrance. Maybe they don't know it's there, I didn't until now.

You probably need to mark the lane better. That is what I have always thought it was for and have often used it for. Your parking lot and the streets around it are an accident waiting to happen. Last time I was near there I had a guy pull out on to 6 right in front of me who was still counting the stuff in his bag. That's not the store's fault. That's just a moron behind the wheel.

I have mentioned this several times on here as well. I see it often. Definitely an accident waiting to happen. People are lazy and impatient...it doesn't take that long to turn on the street before the entrance and go around a 1/2 block.

BTW...are you the guy who works the money window in the mornings?

Strange,,,,The lane in front of McDonalds has the words Drive Thru and an arrow pointing west. When I have been told to wait they tell me to just pull forward and say nothing about turning into that lane. I turn into the lot off of Krueger Street and go through that lane and have never had a problem. I am cheap so I eat there probably 4 times a week and go in that way all the time. If you go in the back way during the busy hours you have to cut into the long line if the others cars will let you.

I have to ask this: If you are cheap, why are you wasting $4 a gallon gas, sitting idling in a drive-thru? I think you will find it cheaper to park and walk in for your order.

Any other opinions? How much gasoline do you figure we waste in this country each day sitting in drive-up lanes?

Gee, maybe it is the store's fault. He wouldn't have to be checking his bag if they could get an order right in that place!! Now, I'm not saying the street is the proper place to be checking your order, but maybe if the staff were checking it and making sure that it was correct, he wouldn't have to do it.

The construction company painting the road should have put some big yellow golden arches in that left turn lane, then people would definitely know where to go.

-By the way, if you do take the back lot, watch out for the craters that are about 2 feet deep.

I see that you probably have had a bad experience with our store. Sorry to hear that. WE ARE NOT ALL PERFECT... We usually do get all of what customers order. We have regulars who come through drive thru and always expect us to get them double hamburgers with only tomato and mayo but don't always that.. They say it differently and try to keep the sandwiches or it's just a complete mistake. Do you know how many buttons we have to push? There's probably more than 100 and were going to have double that when our new coffees come out. They cuss us out for not being able to understand.. They wont pull ahead and act like a complete *** out of themselves and we get to blame when the others after them finally get their food. We aren't all osterichs with their heads stuck in the ground. Some of us actually like working there. I hate rude customers. We try our best and all these people think about is their food? It's ridiculous.. I want to see those people work their ***** off for a minimum wage job just so they can see how bad it gets when customers yell at us.

Good point. Although, average cars use up an ounce of gas when starting. We get a lot of orders in drive thru, I think people should come in more often, just so we can actually meet them not while they are sitting in their car.

I can honestly tell you that I do not try to be difficult about my order. I AM particular about my food, though. When I mention it, I get told, "Oh, we're having a bad night in the drive-thru, etc....." I'm not really sure how that is MY fault. My husband actually came in one night and was told to pull forward and wait. Then, the person who came out with his food told him that she was not sure why he was told that, and gave him a double cheeseburger and an extra order of french fries. However, there was not sauce for the nuggets for our kids, nor ketchup or straws in the bag. It's not that big of a deal, but it is just frustrating.

I can also tell you that I have NEVER been rude to or cussed anyone out for this. I simply state what is wrong and expect it to be fixed. I don't think that there is anything wrong with that. I know what it is like to work with rude customers and for only minimum wage as I did so when I was in college. Sometimes people are impossible to deal with, but I don't think their expectations are too high to expect their order to be right, expecially if it was taken correctly in the first place.

br_lee_jack, I feel for you. All those buttons must make for a difficult working environment. It appears from your typing that you can handle the buttons on a keyboard pretty well. That would make you qualified to type articles the News Sun, who knows, they may be hiring.

If buttons are too difficult, maybe reading is an easier skill. Again, you could be hired as a proof reader for the News Sun.

OK, I am in a sarcastic mood. I apologize for my comments. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings who either work at McDonalds or the News Sun. I frequent them both regardless of perfection.

Maybe they should ask the other fastfoods around town how they get by without a hurry up and pull ahead and and wait spot and far fewer mix ups. This could just be my experience. I dont remember the last time I had a B.K. order screw up .

It's just your experience... Taco Bell is the only one in town that never screwed up my order and thats an anomaly as every other TB on this planet has screwed up my order at some point.

If you and I were thinking of the same person (I think we were, and I don't think it was br_lee_jack), we had an obituary for him in the paper today. I was sorry to hear Bob had passed; he was always so cheerful when I would go through the drive-thru.

Oh man...that is not good news, and only 61. I haven't been to the MD's drive-thru in about a year and a half, but he always had a friendly face and comment. I know he will be missed there. Thanks for the info, though sad.

Oh geez...I used to stop into that MDs on my way to work in Kendallville and he served me many times. Very good fellow...gone way too soon.

    Sorry to hear.
