Default 2009 Big Ten Men's Tourney

Michigan State is the top seed.

Anyone picking a winner or a sleeper?

Illinois is scary. Michigan is athletic but inconsistent (Iowa loss anyone?). Northwestern & Penn State could scare some teams.

IU....Crean's just praying for next year and counting his cash.

    troublesome_one,
You're an IU fan, yes? I noticed you left three-seed Purdue out of your list.

I gotta go with my Boilers, if they decide to come to play.

A quick perusal of this board will indicate to you that the Troublesome One and I essentially have had a two-way discussion about Purdue all season long. I highly doubt an IU fan would be initiating Purdue discussion (unless it were in the form of a joke).

Like me, the Troublesome One knows better when it comes to Purdue and the Big Ten Tournament. Purdue *never* does well in that tournament, almost always bowing out before their seed would indicate. I think that in the history of the tournament, they've only played on the final day once, and even lost then.

On top of that, they did not end the season very well.

Ahhh, you are correct. My mind is tired this week...
Just being realistic then, I presume...

    The BigB is correct.

The Boilers under perform in the Big Ten Tourney. You'd think they'd come with a little fire knowing they could improve their seeding in the Big Dance. But noooooo!

They take on the winner of the IU-Penn State game. Either team could cause trouble for this inconsistent club. If they bow out in (their) first round they may drop to a 10 seed or lower.

Jeff Washburn writes for the Lafayette Journal & Courier but here's his article from the Indy Star:

That first year loss to Michigan came at the United Center. We'll see how they match up against Penn State tonight.

    Boilers in the final!

    Two decent performances..needing a third.

Please say the same about the NCAA Tourney.
