    First UP

Last night the wife and I took our son to see Up. We went and saw the movie in all of it's 2D glory as neither my wife nor I have enjoyed any of the 3D movies we have seen thus far.

This morning, my sides still ached from the laughing. This movie is hilarious and contains things that anybody capable of fogging a mirror will laugh at. Some things were over my son's head, but that kept it entertaining for my wife and I. If they make more movies like this, I'll be more than willing to take my son to the movies.

We went as a family to see it Friday. My wife said it was the most "chick flick" Pixar film she's seen, with all the tear-jerking moments between Carl and Ellie.

The kids thought it was OK but I think the "adventure is in the everyday" message was a bit lost on them. They still want to be adventurers.

I was wondering if anyone else was reminded of a certain Fence Post thread by the "snipe hunt" reference.

We've also been looking at our lab and yelling, "SQUIRREL!!!"

I also enjoyed the short feature right before the film. That was pretty cute.

I agree with much of Jenny's review. I'm not sure it's quite Lion King caliber, but definitely way ahead of most animated fare. I enjoyed UP much more than I enjoyed Wall-E, thought I thought Wall-E was fun. This will compete well with Cars in my mind.

sounds like a good one to get on blu-ray when it comes out.
