Have any of you people on here had any trouble with how slow the family court system is in Steuben County?

I have a friend who had been trying to get into court for months and months now to finalize their issues.

My case was heard in Noble County, it took three months from the time I filed (almost the same time as my friend) until we had our final hearing . I filed over the same issues my friend was having, visitation. Needless to say my case was resolved last September and my friend is still waiting. There case was continued and they are saying it could be another 6 months.

Whats the deal, we have the same amount of Judges to hear cases.

Why is it that criminals take precedence over law abiding citizens when it comes to court schedules. But then again if the child gets in trouble because of lack of guidance maybe then the court system will have time to hear their case!

I said to my friend the other day just think if you were a suspected criminal you would have the right to a speedy trial but isn't losing time with your child a crime, if not it should be!
