That is truely an interesting link Mrs. Slotz. It wasn't me who started this thread, but rather BigDeel. He chose the same picture to go with his profile as I have, so I understand the confusion. I'm going to be changing mine shortly so....no problem.

Along the line of this topic, I have seen a few TV specials recently where people are increasing their interest in panning for Gold in California due to the increased price per ounce.

As I watched those stories, they showed people sifting by hand from creek beds for the gold and I just moaned. Someone with more patience than me would be required for that job. They deserve every dollar they are able to mine.

Wow, Sorry about that Helen, I just looked at the pic and thought it was you. If you need help changing your picture, I can surely help. I change mine all the time. Must have something to do with my A.D.D.
I think that there is a place in Indiana where you can pan for gold. My brother went there a few times with a friend of his. I should try to find out where it is. It would be very exciting to pan for gold!!

I would be interested in knowing what the success rate is in Indiana for panning? The shows that I have watched primarily featured California and said that only about 18% - 20% of the anticipated gold has been mined. Now how they come to those conclusions....I really do not know?

Don't worry BigDeel...I knew you were a male...just from your postings. We simply happened to like the same pictures for the fall time.

Also, I want to say 'Welcome to the FencePost'. I have been a member for about 1 yr and I really do enjoy the exchange of thoughts here.
