A Better Future for Hudson?
I am a senior at Purdue University studying landscape architecture. My capstone class this semester is in Regional Design and I would like to take on Hudson as my senior project. I have long called Steuben County and the region around Hudson my home. The community has greatly contributed to me as an individual and I would now like to give something back to it.
The reason I have chosen Hudson is that I have concern it, as well as many other small American towns, has deteriorated from what it was in its heyday. I do not believe Hudson and the rest of small town America is a lost cause, but I do believe that we must act to keep it from being one. There are practices and ideas we can employ to preserve Hudson and make it prosper for years to come. I have been trained in a field that strives to discover problems and solutions such as might be evident within the region. I believe this project will be both beneficial to further my education and to the direction Hudson grows in the future. I hope you will like to take the opportunity to work with me to find ways in which Hudson can be a better place!
The first part of my project will include a thorough analysis of Hudson and its place within the context of the surrounding region. I need to identify the biggest problems to the town.
What is the significance of Hudson?
Why do you choose to live there and be a part of its community?
Why should people come to live in Hudson?
What would make Hudson a better place to live?
Do you have a dream of what Hudson would look like in the future?
What do you wish Hudson had to offer?
Thanks for any contributions you can make!
