Default Reality Check: Indiana job numbers don't add up

This is a very interesting article about the Indiana Jobs Mitch Daniels was taking credit for during his 2008 re-election ad. It shows a picture of a corn field in LaGrange County is where the state claims 107 jobs were created. The article can be read at http://www.wthr.com/global/Story.asp?s=12066021 There is also another article on the WLKI website at http://www.wlki.com/news.php

During his term it seems to me that the majority of the new jobs created have been in Central and Southern Indiana. I'm not sure why Northern Indiana is ignored when it comes to new job placement. I would think our location to other states would be a bonus along with the rail service we have to offer. Could it be because the Indiana Toll Road is no longer considered to be an affordable means of transporting goods? Does anyone have some insight of why Northern Indiana does not seem to attract new business like the rest of the State?

Does this surprise anyone? I didn't think so. No surprise this article was suppressed until after the elections, and Mitch is in his last term and won't be affected by the revelations anyway.

It appears my "Ditch Mitch" bumper sticker failed. Dangit! It's a good conversation starter here in Kansas though...

All I can come up with is "Please God no, Don't give this guy any more influence than he already has or we're sunk!" , but I think it might be too long for a bumper sticker

Mitch cooked the numbers for the Iraq war....should we be surprised he would cook the numbers for these "Jobs".

Now Mitch is touting an expansion at Camp Atterbury that will create thousands of new jobs. (According to the crawler on INC NOW) WRTV has different numbers. http://www.theindychannel.com/news/23158171/detail.html

Another link saying thousands of jobs. Has anyone told Mitch Indiana extends North of Indy as far as it extends South? http://www.insideindianabusiness.com...m.asp?ID=41162

Oh for shame on you he did stop in Garrett for breakfast and it is doubtful he paid for that.
