LB...I don't get you at all? Ask the residents of these border communities - they will tell you quite the opposite.

If you do not know any of these residents personally, please google the reports of violence, kidnapping, and the selling of young American women if their families do not provide adequate ransom for their daughters.

Our border citizens are absolutely NOT being protected by our Federal Immigration enforcement laws. I have been treated as an extreme alarmist on the FP about 6-9 months ago when my good friends reported to me what they were dealing with in this area. Now it is on National news (finally) and far too many of our citizens living in the midwest are still living in denial of the harm our citizens are facing.

So, no, I'm not spinning it.

And then maybe Glen Beck would care.
    LB,

Please show me where in Arizona Senate Bill 1070 that authorizes an arrest for not carrying immigration papers. Even the federal law suit does not address an arrest for not carrying proper I.D. Those opposing the law also does not address the carrying of I.D. but more on profiling. So yes, I still think its spin.
I didn't know about it until you did and I can't comment on a pending case!!!!!

In other words , Just do the right thing and Become an american Citizen , file the correct paperwork , Pay the taxes and learn the English Language if you want to work and stay in this country.

I was subjected to more legal mumbo when signing for my home as an Anishinabe than it takes an illegal to be properly legalized to a U.S. Citizen. So to anyone that wants to give freedoms to others that you do not have as a legal America Citizen you need to trot your rear across a border and take on a new citizenship and see how far your American Status takes you trying to be an illegal in another country??

My opinion to this border matter is punch a hole in the war on drugs by legalizing medical marijuana that will be taking the equasion of color out of it.

Just because they don't catch everyone doesn't mean the borders aren't monitored. Its a tough job.

You are absolutely right in my opinion, Gonemad! I sincerely regret that so many are living under dire circumstances in Mexico. I also believe that they have the ability to stay in their country, use their energies and influence upon their own government to improve the quality of their own government and law enforcement. When they sneak across our borders and live here illegally, they are benefiting from the sacrifices and investments made by our forefathers, our families, and ourselves. I object to that (even when they come here peacefully, but illegally). I really object when they arrive here willing to bully, kidnap and to kill our citizens for their own profit.

IF they come here legally, I have no problem with this.

Seems to me that many of the mexicans sneaking into arizona are returning to the land our forefathers pushed them out of.

Remember folks, this land is your land, this land is my land, from california, to the new york island... this land was stolen for you and me.

Stolen or fought for, LB? AND after being won in the fight, it has been invested in with labor, sweat, tears, investments and developed to serve the needs of our legal citizens. The Mexican's lost that war on the border. Do you support waving that flag of surrender and allowing them to flow across the border that was won at such a high cost? I don't!!

I understand your point LB. IF you individually should kick me out of my house with the use of violence, I believe that would be theft.

On the other hand, if Canada or Mexico decided to invade Indiana and root my entire community out of their homes and their lands, I would consider that an invasion of war. Should they win, I expect I would have the need to relinquish ownership of my property to the ones who has conquored my community, state, and/or nation.

I would not do so happily, but I would indeed understand the needs of survival, and accomodate at least temporarily. My question is - will the US stand up for the blood, sweat and tears that have already been invested in this national divide between Mexico and the US? OR - will we stick our heads in the sand like the proverbial Ostrich and leave our rear ends exposed while the Mexicans move in undocumented?

I'm just one voter and one citizen. I know how I will be voting. IF Obama doesn't get it, he will loose my vote. Who will pick it up - I do not know yet?
