Juggle Share your family friendly places to go!

Hey, I'm a Father of 4 kids. I love golf, but get little time. Today I had a meeting at The Dome, I believe it was formerly the Golf Dome. It's pretty neat. They have minature golf, driving range and games and fun stuff for the kids right now. I had no idea that this was a kid friendly place for fun. We're always looking for new places to go to as a family with young children. Can any parents share fun things to do around town? I also recently found out that Mitchell's Books does movies and kid event days. PLEASE SHARE!

I'm a dad of three but fairly new to the area. My kids really enjoyed the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo but I'm guessing you're looking for something a bit less obvious. Here are a couple articles from Fort Wayne Family magazine with some suggestions:

Something you might consider if you want to get away is to take a day trip to South Bend, hop on the South Shore line and take a trip to Chicago. The train stops at the Field Museum/Shedd Aquarium and also Millenium Park, which is close to Navy Pier where the Children's Museum is. A trip from South Bend Regional airport, where the train loads is $9.00 on weekends and kids ride free if under 13. It's a lot of fun for a little money and my son loves it, particularly due to his love of trains.

Something that we liked to do when our kids were little (they are all grown now) was to go to the Lincoln Museum and the Art Museum in Ft Wayne. And then of course you have to go to Atz on Anthony Blvd for ice cream.

A really fun idea if you have young children interested in trains, specifically Thomas, is the Day Out With Thomas @ the WhiteWater Valley Railroad in Connersville this weekend. It is a full-sized Thomas the Tank Engine that the family can ride and there are lots of other related activities as well. There is a web address below if you are interested in checking into it.

We took our son to "A Day Uut With Thomas" last year at Crossroads village just outside Flint, MI last year. He loved it. It is a great time for the whole family. I don't know what the rest of the venue is like in Connersville, but Crossroads Village had a whole lot of things to do and see after all of the train activities. Tickets sold out fast though.

I'd reccomend it to anybody who has a child who loves Thomas, trains, or just good family fun. We are going back again this summer.
