Cool Re: IU Coach Hoeppner Dies

I saw that this morning. I kind of had a feeling when IU announced an interim coach that Coach Hoeppner's health wasn't going to get any better.

His loss will be huge, especially to his family, but also to his players and the school. It seemed like he was the coach that could bring Indiana football back to respectability.

Looking from a distance, "Hep" was a man with tremendous passion and great energy for living and for coaching football. He was on his way to being most positively impactful football coach IU has had since Bill Mallory.

Coach Hep was a class act to the nth degree. Not only did IU lose a great man today but the whole state suffers as well. Take some time to read about him and is easy to see why the hoosier nation is suffering so bad. He was what we want all of our children's coach's to be.
