    Default Easy Chess

Could somebody tell me what's so EASY about Easy Chess? My obsession of the past 24 hours has yielded me maybe half a dozen stalemates, and about 40 sound beatings the likes of which I haven't seen since I learned chess as a 12 year old.
The computer certainly seems to know when you're over running it, but I swear it like it's three or four steps ahead of me!

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

I'm with you, but personally I will admit to being a fairly mediocre chess player. One of the regular arcade guys told me he beat it in six moves.

I whooped it in 12 moves last night! I'll never get it in six though.

Hey all, I think someone is playing hard and fast with the rules here, in order to win in four moves[two for you and two for the opponent] you would have to have the computer move first, what gives?

I hearby declare puncharoo40, and bravokilo77 to be cheats. There is no way they can win easy chess in an even number of moves and not be cheating!

To all who have had their high scores taken by these two, they are not playing chess or whatever, they are playing the flash component of that particular game, and therefore, are not playing on a level board.

There actually is a way I can think of that might have been used to get a lower score on that game without messing with the Flash. The games I get for the arcade are free and some of them have imperfections or quirks, though I try to screen them out as best I can.

The arcade is there just for fun and I think most of the people just like to challenge themselves to beat their own high scores rather than worrying about who's at the top of the leaderboard. A number of them even offer tips to the other gamers via the chat board. If someone is going to the trouble to find some sneaky way around a game - and I don't have any evidence of that occurring - it's not like it's going to make any difference in the real world.

Although I agree that it means nothing, The rules of the game are clear, the human must move first, and if he does so, the number of turns to win will always be odd, unless you can get the computer to move first! Not to mention that the computer counts both players moves, thereby the four turn gambit would win with a 7, and the only gambits that allow you to win in less would be the other player[ie. the computer] would have to move first.

The flaw I noticed in the Easy Chess game is that it counts number of moves but doesn't necessarily care if you win or lose. So someone could theoretically achieve a lower score by losing fast. Which, according to what you say, would be an even number of moves.

I'm not saying that's what happened, but it is a possibility.

So your saying they have the top score but didn't win? I thought it only counted winning scores? I can see what you are talking about.

No, it just counts the number of moves. It's a flaw in how that particular game was designed.

I know this because, being a mediocre chess player, I've never beaten that game (granted, I've only played it a few times to test it out) but it still counts my scores.

Yes, I see that now. What a sad day when people try to twist the simple concepts of a game into something it is not. Puncharoo and bravokilo, you two are losers, low score losers to be sure.
