People are still trying to figure out how he could play and sing as he did in one take. The bass line combined with the slide or other 'singing-note' lines, and plowing through it with his voice like that. That song is from 1936, which is about 13 years before Les Paul invented multi track recording. It's really amazing. He was the Jimi Hendrix of his time.
How ' bout a couple of 30ish year old white dudes from Akron..The Black Keys, not traditional ,but trying to keep the genre alive..

Vintage Johnny Winter
I wish I knew 'what' it was. He kept to himself a lot, except with women. Poisoned to death at age 27. Definitely a disturbing story, and yet such an excellent musician. He sure didn't 'sound' like a young man.
Check out Keb Mo' - The Stones did this one.

Warren's definitely the closest thing to Duane Allman, right down to the Coricidin bottle for a slide. Here's the Allman Brothers with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks- another barn burner!

This will give my age away..........I was too young to have heard of ****one, and assumed that Chuck Berry created these licks.
