Default My Opinion: Good Riddance to Charlie Sheen and Two and a Half Men

From my perspective, I have my fingers crossed that this is the last time we have to see this douche on TV. I have never been able to stomach the show, so it's a win for me on both counts.

I do hope he gets his act together; Robert Downey has has shown it can be done- but he really doesn't seem to recognize that he has a legitimate problem.

Anyway, here is a good article I found addressing not only Sheen, but others with similar "issues."

Mel Gibson is an example of how hard is to overcome the black list.

He was fired for speaking against the grain on the truth about 9/11. A very powerful rant indeed.
So now he's in the unemploment line with Mel Gibson and Helen Thomas.

I'm not so deep or socially-conscious to warrant caring about the politics and conspiracy theories behind his firing. I just think he's an arrogant douchebag with an inflated sense of entitlement and self-worth who irritates the hell out of me and I am thrilled he will be in the spotlight at least a little less often. Idiots like this do find a way to get themselves talked about obviously, so I am sure he will continue to run his mouth and pass it off as "fighting the power", but in the end he's still a jerk.

He’s completely replaceable..completely!!!!! I think Dobie Gillis should play his part…opps he’s dead, like Sheenie Weenie might be soon, with all his habits of drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and the possibility of contacting Aids and other sexual diseases. He’s literally digging his own grave as we write. What a waste of good talent. He thinks he's better than any other actor. It's rather sad for his father and his family. To the best of my knowledge his brother Emilio Estavez had never had any negativity written about him. Too bad Charlie boy couldn't walked a bit in his footsteps.

Also, in my “not worth a cent” opinion of Mr. Butthead Sheen, I think he is a spoiled brat who has seldom had to hold himself responsible for all the trouble he’s been in. He thinks he’s invincable with “tiger and Adonis blood”?????? Insane ranting from a guy who is not a man. Old Sheen is looking older and older by the day.The show should have been called "One Man, One Kid and Little Boy", Cuz' he sure ain’t no man' He’s obtuse, dirty, foul, and has the integrity of a drunken scuz butt. His values and moral are stuff that trash are made of. He should not be in any care of children. He believes himself to be invincable and looks at himself as some sort of ‘special’ person. Frankly I wouldn’t even take a million dollars to spend one day with him…not that he’d offer, cuz’ I’m not his type….a prostitute. Go away Charlie you’re wasting media coverage that should be given to someone more handsome and more interesting. If all the media would just back off and quit making him prime topic, maybe he’d find out he is boring, unclassy and disgusting. Think????????????

Actor Charlie Sheen is a classic example of the difference in Western and Eastern values and norms.

Ignoring public pleas from his father, Sheen has continued a weeklong media blitz, exhibiting obvious signs of mania. With no firm hand to guide them, Western media has deliberately goaded him into making increasingly delusional statements, more concerned about "winning" higher ratings than Sheen's own sense of pride, or the negative example his brash public admissions about his private sex life and unverifiable international conspiracies could be setting for society.

How many young people have been led astray by Sheen's boasts about his substance abuse and freewheeling sex life? And that was when he was in character on national television, as a randy bachelor in Two and a Half Men.

Sheen attracted 1 million Twitter followers in just 24 hours, yet more evidence that microblogs spread the most unhealthy contagions in society like a disease. Chinese family, coworkers, or the authorities would have taken firm steps to make sure someone like Sheen did not make a public spectacle of himself.

Take Edison Chen, who humbly apologized and slipped away to Canada. Or Li Gang's father, who wept as he sought forgiveness on his son's behalf.

The fact that Sheen continues to embarrass himself unabated, becoming even a hero to many, points to the vast differences in cultures.

His employers are unhappy that he was distracted with prostitutes and drugs, and didn't show up to work on time. Why not take a tip from the Chinese business community, and make visits to a KTV parlor part of Sheen's workday?

And instead of epic parties at his home with porn stars, why not keep Sheen occupied with business banquets?

Sheen goes on television and boasts that he has two girlfriends, who both sleep in the same bedroom. Is he too poor to set up his wives and mistresses in different houses?

In Chinese society, these problems are dealt with delicately and privately. Sheen is like a typical Westerner throwing fuel on the fire with each interview and tweet. It is almost as if he feels no shame and is loving the attention.

Racism, spousal abuse, addiction, politics, mental illness, boasting about mistresses, - these are all subjects best dealt with behind closed doors.

As much as Sheen has lived a life most Chinese men can only fantasize about, our admiration of him can only go so far. He has not only lost face with his public rants, but also crossed a cultural barrier no Chinese can abide.

He ignored his own father's advice to keep quiet, who was once the president of the US. Sheen is a disgrace, unfilial to his father and his fatherland.

Martin Sheen should at once go on television and tearfully apologize on behalf of his son for his inability to keep up appearances and keep his mouth shut.

I believe Charlie and Lindsey L should 'hook up'. Perhaps we could kill 2 birds with 1 'stoned'?

Rumor has it that Charlie's 'Goddess' from Woodburn has a family here that is seriously suffering from all of this media drama. To her father's male co-workers ....I want to say...'BACK OFF' , I'm pretty sure your unkind remarks to him are injuring a good man. Once our kids leave home, none of us have control of their behavior. This girl's family is suffering and those in our community who are tossing insults towards them are equally as cheap as the acts you are condemning. I just want to say 'DUDES...treat this father as you would want to be treated if this was your daughter.'

Good point, Helen. I certainly would not want to be held responsible for some of the things my kids do and say...nor would I expect my parents to take the blame for anything my younger sister has done in her adult life.

I don't think people understand that CS has a mental illness and people like him don't act right when mixing alcohol, drugs and a messed up brain chemistry. Has anyone considered the fact that MAYBE he has taken medication for this in the past and perhaps decided he didn't need it anymore and that he was "cured"? It happens a lot with people that are bi-polar...if, in fact, that is what he has. I have an Aunt who has done this many times in the past and her behavior during these "cured" times was bizarre and it was everyone else who was wrong and had a problem. I went to school with a guy who took meds for bi-polar disorder and ended up comitting suicide during one of his non-medicated periods. Charlie needs serious help before he completely melts down. His behavior is very sad, if you look beyond the surface of all of his rantings.

*Well, thank God he's coming back....

    *sarcasm

(It takes all the fun out of it by having to add this disclaimer, but past experience has taught me you have to on the FP)
