What is a mid-summer mud bogg?

My guess is that since it is the middle of summer, they named it mid-summer. And a mud bog is just that, a mud bog. people will take their trucks and 4-wheelers and try and get as far as they can thru the mud bog. He who goes farthest wins. I would assume there are different classes also, so that a 4X4 stock Dodge Dakota isn't competing against a 4X4 F250 with 15 inches of lift and 44 inch tires and a 460 lincoln big block under the hood.
