And if you want to combine your searches.... look into gun crime rates in countries with heavy gun restrictions. Might be enlightening.
I'm not sure there are any countries that don't ban some drugs. Also Netherlands recently passed a law making it illegal to sell cannabis to tourists.

What that says to me is pretty simple.

We can handle it, you Americans can't.

Its true. The same applies to drinking. America has the highest rate of binge drinking, specifically because we make it "cool" by putting restrictions on it. Whether its pot in Holland or drinking in Germany, they can handle it because its not a big deal.

Would Americans go trekking across europe if America didn't have the laws that we have? No way. Be honest, kids go to Europe because they can't have those things here. There are rich guys that ship their cars to Germany to drive the Autobahn. Same thing.

Umm, you don't think that people steal cigarettes because they can't afford them?....Hmmmmm, interesting.

I think that people steal things they can afford all the time. I don't suggest banning the things they steal because they steal them.

Interesting stats about binge drinking in Europe, especially among the young, starting on page 18.

Expensive is a relative term. What may be expensive for one person could be cheap for another. Also, making cigarettes illegal would put a lot of Americans out of work during a time when we already have record highs in unemployment. Keeping illegal drugs illegal doesn't affect jobs.

Are you serioulsy suggeting kids travel half way across the planet just to drink and and do drugs because their options are limited at home? Sounds like an awfully big commitment. I thought kids visited other countries to experience the culture. Sure, some might imbibe in what would be illegal here, but I'd hardly clump them all into that category.

So, you acknowledge that people steal things they can afford all the time, yet you think that if drugs were legal and the cost goes down, the robberies would stop. You can't have it both ways chief.

Again, I did not suggest banning anything.

And with that I'm done with you, once again. Because you continually suggest things I didn't say.

This isn't the first time you have done this. You like to play this game, go play with someone else.

I think if their government were to explain it, they'd rather say it is a way of respecting the laws of other nations and recognizing that not all countries share the same viewpoint. And it's a way of preventing the stuff being transported back home with tourists...

I didn't say it would stop. That's stupid. You can't stop people from stealing. I'm saying that if you want people to stop stealing cold medicine, legalizing the thing they're trying to make would reduce the theft of cold pills.

Torget, I don't suggest things you didn't say. What I do is quite simple. People say things, and I boil them down to their most basic tenants, then I test those tenants logically.

If you don't agree with my logical assessment of why you think drugs should be illegal... please...

...tell us why you think they should be illegal.

Legalizing the thing doesn't decrease the need for the cold pills. There's no logic in that at all. Your saying people will stop stealing enfimil if we legalize meth. Those that use it are adicted and can't just quit on their own. They'll continue to steal it because they need it to make the meth - legal or not.

Yeah, there is. I didn't need to provide ID to buy cold pills until meth hit the scene.

If people could just buy meth like cigarettes they wouldn't steal cold pills to make it. If they wanted to make it, they'd just buy the cold pills. Which wouldn't require ID, because it would be legal.

People are addicted to booze, too, Tater. I don't need to provide ID to buy some taters because alcoholics are stealing them to make vodka.

I've never been asked to show my ID when purchasing cold pills or any over the counter drug.

I wasn't going to reply...This is for your benefit, as I am sure others can see what you are up to.

You do not do what you say you do with my comments. You make assumptions and imply untruths. You thought you could get away with it, but you got caught and now you are trying to get out of it.

Please show all of us where I suggested banning drugs? Please show where, as you say you boil them down to their basic tenants, did I suggest that we ban drugs? You can't LB, because it is all in your mind.

I suppose that the person who said "If you want the crime to go away, make the drugs legal." was an imposter then?

And finally, I already told you why.

Its pretty common. Meijer asks you to show ID and sign a book if the pills you're buying have pseudoephedrine. Which is why I stopped buying such pills. Pain in the butt.

It seemed a pretty simple assumption, since you went nutters when I suggested legalizing drugs.

Why don't you save us all some time, Torget.... save me from my assumptions.

Do you think drugs should be banned?

Because illegal drugs kill, not only those who abuse them but those they hurt, while high or what not. No Im not saying Im for banning, just giving a logical answer!

Yesterday morning around 10:30 am, the Scotts pharmacy on N. Clinton in FW was robbed. Now I read that Walgreens Pharmacy was robbed this morning around 12:30 am at Dupont and Coldwater Rd in FW.

It seems like we are seeing a considerable increase in these type of robberies.

Yes, why do we bring up other countries, anyway, including wars; I say, theyre adults, they should take care of their own countries, but thats another subject.
Torget um or was it HH; had the idea of bullet proof glass?-along with a silent alarm and the cameras being counter top level pointed at such an angle that their faces couldnt be hidden by hoods, is the best idea, so far, well most logical. And the part about the robber taking a hostage would be slim to none, as they would want to get out of there before the police arrive, yes, a hostage would slow them down (I know I would give it all I got!-in the way of giving them a hard time, if I were the hostage, well, unless they proved to have a gun and it was pointed at my head)., but that scenario wont likely happen to anyone-though druggies do get desperate to get their 'fix', I still don't think they'd want to risk taking time away from getting out of there before the cops arrive.
And who was it that passed a bill or however it was said, against tracking devices?...hhhmmm, wonder what they've got to hide. But thats another subject too.
Torget and LB, you guys need to um, calm down a bit maybe.....gettin a little heated up, I never meant for that to happen when I started this; though, I have to go with Torget, on this: I may not sound smart on here, most of the time, but LB, you're not making any sense...that and the way you're pushing the legalizing issue, makes you look a bit suspicious, not that its my business, but its got to make the readers wonder.
