This is what an ACTUAL War on Women looks like. American women and all Americans must stand strong on the progress that has been made for our women in this Nation, or we could be facing the fight again.

again, it's not an argument. are you trying to start one?
it doesn't have to be rape. you could use an endless number of scenarios for "interesting statistics"....
"how many women want to father the child of the guy that just beat the crap out of her?"
"how many women want to father the child of the guy that just killed her parents?"
i think those would make for great statistics. don't you?

"how many men want to get arrested for masturbating?"
http://tumblr.thedailywh.at/post/173...ng-a-page-fromHowever, any action in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a woman's vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child.

Access to contraceptives has not yet been abdicated, yet, it is in danger from the GOP and their approach to both Planned Parenthood and workplace insurance plans. It is the women who can least financially afford the additional costs of raising children that are at the greatest risk of having contraceptives made unavailable to them. The best prevention of abortions is contraceptives. Planned parenthood and workplace insurance are the most common points of access for contraceptives for low & middle class unmarried women.
Please notice Rick Santorum's ignorant rant on this topic here (as well as the others). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...n_1441458.html

Granted. But isn't that the purpose our lawmakers having discussions when bills are submitted so they determine the reaction of the voters and evidently it served its purpose. Changing this bill because of the outcry of the general public is not an anomaly, it happens all the time. This bill was barely 2 pages long and it was three months after introduction before it was passed which gave individual legislators plenty of time to read the bill and get feedback. Unfortunately, if the healthcare bill had been given the same opportunity perhaps we could have had a bill that would have been mutually agreed upon by both sides. Instead it was crammed down our throats without time for reading, discussions, and feedback and is now before the Supreme Court to determine its constitutionally and if and when it is found to be unconstitutional we are back to square one.

Homey, without health insurance, a standard yearly visit to my family physician will cost a woman approx $88 for the checkup. Then they send the paps smear off to the lab. That is approx $50 - $75 for the lab results. Now, you get down to the $9-$10 a month for the contraceptive prescription. Perhaps you have not noticed that if you have 10 women in a group visiting on the topic of birth control, you will find 10 different prescriptions and/or methods of birth control. There is an absolutely good reason for this. Women do not all react the same to different prescriptions and/or methods. So, if the 1st prescription does not work for the woman, here she goes back to the family physican (if Planned Parenthood isn't available). Guess what...she won't need another paps test, yet she will certainly be charged a minimum of $66 in most offices for this follow up visit. (It will be a bit cheaper because it doesn't require the physical exam this time). It is not unusual for a woman to need to try several different contraceptives before she finds one that works in her body.
I have heard this cheap $9 a month tag tossed around disrespectfully as the GOP try to sell their agenda. It does not fit the real world application of healthy female contraceptive solutions. It is disrespectful and dismissive of a real need for these women.
Are you aware of the effects on contraceptives if a woman should require taking anti-biobiotics? http://www.medicinenet.com/script/ma...ticlekey=17192

That's because we look at it in different ways. You are looking at it as a violation of women's rights where I look at it as a right for an unborn to survive. In the event of a pregnancy due to incest or rape I could and will support an abortion; however, when nature does what natures does at the pleasure of the participants I am in agreement with the pro-life movement. Whose rights trumps other rights should and will be left up to the courts. Another thought is when do any of us have the right to destroy any part of our body strictly at will?

Don't think anyone said that insurance should not cover physician visits or lab tests, etc, etc. etc for whatever reason. At debate is the availability of contraceptives and should they be provided at the expense of the taxpayers and/or should private insurers be mandated to cover contraceptives. I can understand the need for contraceptive coverage if it concerns the life of the woman but if its for the pleasure of the man or woman they can pay their own way. Speaking of man how is it that he is exonerated from this contraceptive debate?
