The poll currently running with 4 possible options of reward for organ donors on KPC website has a disappointing & disturbing result trend going currently for me.

I remember a few years back reading of how wealthy people in China and a few other nations were capable of placing a price on what they will pay for a needed organ and when the price was sufficient, the organ would be presented to the needy & wealthy recipient for that price. At the time, I felt thankful that I lived in a nation where that was unacceptable with our medical profession, our government, and above all would be rejected by our own citizens as an acceptable practice. Either I was naive...or...I'm receiving an awakening of just how materialistic our nation has become?

Reimbursing a donor for their medical expenses involved in making an organ donation is certainly reasonable to me. As a society, if we have become so needy of cash that we are required to sell our organs to maintain our lives....WHY?
