Today in the Butler Bulletin an article was published about the department getting an increase in their budget... First question I have is why only 22 members? I have lived in Butler all my life and I know there has always been more than 22 members. Are there problems within the department? Also I read the fire reports published every week and it seems to have a pattern of 2 to 4 firefighters responding to calls. Why is this? If there are 22 members why only 2 to 4 members showing up on calls? I think before we go giving raises we need to look at why people arent showing up. I have heard in the community, that the response times are one of the worst in Dekalb county, is it because the fire station being moved out west of town, or is it because people dont show up? I guess as a citizen of the Butler area I would like to have some answers to these questions?
