    Default Gay rights

I am not happy with the status quo. People have been allowed to interfere with our constitution, and put their religious beliefs into law for too long. To the religious right, the use of the words “endowed by their creator” is used to show that the founding fathers were Christian. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If the fathers were Christian, wouldn't they have used the term GOD? Wouldn't they have spelled out that Christianity is the true religion? Well, they didn't, and the fact is, this is a secular country where religion should have no hold on law. How many times have we heard on this forum that our laws are based on the ten commandments? This is also not true, it is based solely on common law, which is Pagan at it's heart. Much of our countries workings are also based on the Roman model, and as such are also Pagan. This is not my opinion, this is fact. All laws are meant to keep people safe from each other, and provide for the benefit of all. Why is it then that we allow religion to put into place laws that are destructive to the peace and tranquility of some, so that others can feel superior? The fight to keep Gays from marrying, is one such battle. The rights of gays to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” has been infringed by the religious right. If you take the religion part out of this battle, you find that these people have no right to interfere with gay people. You can't catch gay, it doesn't rub off, and it is not something that you choose, but even if it was, are you not allowed to choose? People, come to your senses, you are fighting a battle that you will lose, and should lose. Just like slavery, this keeping gays from their rights is wrong at best, and evil at worst. You will lose, and it is not your religion that is telling you to fight this battle.
