Default U.S. compnaies to move abroad

I read this, and the whole time I am thinking, I thought the British free health care was expensive?

You do see my point right? If the taxes from free health care are so high, why are they saying they are going to go there?

I wonder if they are just doing this to threaten us, as in "Let us continue to shirk taxes, or we'll move everything overseas."

But they're doing this to avoid corporate taxes, not personal income taxes. By moving their "company" overseas, they're avoiding paying corporate taxes here. But since they're not actually LIVING overseas, they don't have to pay any income taxes there, either.

At least, that's how I'm interpreting this.

Either way, they're screwing over our country.

Well, as long as we remember that corporations are people too.

I hate to break it.... but companies have been moving overseas to avoid taxes for YEARS. When Bush was president, companies were doing this. I don't recall Republicans ever getting into a huff then. But now that Obama's in office, its a calamity. Bill Maher and Keith Olbermann were grousing about this a long time ago. I guess when a Republican is in office, this sort of thing is just clever capitalism. But when a Democrat is in office, the poor business owner is forced out of the country by higher taxes.

How about we take politics out of it and just call it what it is.... corporations trying to get out of paying their taxes. All the rich guys do it, and they've always done it. Its why accountants and lawyers make so much money. I don't really blame them anymore than I blame a pro sports player who requests a trade to a state with no income tax.
