    Default Biodiesel

Area residents interested in knowing more about the proposed biodiesel and soybean processing plant near South Milford will want to attend the informational meeting planned for Thursday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the South Milford Church of Christ.
Gary Pipenger, founder and CEO of Ultra Soy of America, will explain his plans for the $162 million operation. The project would create more than 100 jobs and boost the tax base in eastern LaGrange County.
LaGrange County has pledged up to $2 million from its Major Moves funds to develop infrastructure for the plant.
It's exciting to think that LaGrange County would be home to such a facility. But do you think that biodiesel will catch on with the public? What, if any, should local, state and the federal government do to encourage the use of biodiesel fuel?

Does anyone know how the biodiesel idea is shaping up?When do they start hiring or hasn't it progressed that far yet?How many jobs will it start with?

I know the plant is being built. I don't know what stage the construction is in.

At last report, the company is still awaiting air quality permits. If it does get going, it's expected to provide 160 to 190 jobs.

    From Aug. 24:

Well it's been four years since the announcment and still nothing has been built. Rumor has it, Pipenger is still waiting on investor's money. Looks like it's not going to happen,,,,,

As usual, anything that involves any part of our government is being done as ineficiently as possible!
Out of every type of pant based oil out ther soybean oil is absolutely the most difficult of all to use! I honestly think things are done in such ways to keep us thinking this must be way too difficult for us to do (which it absolutely is not!) so that we won't start producing our own & they can still get all those MILLIONS from us in taxes!
Should anyone feel like giving diodeisel a try on their own, I'd strongly recomeend using peanut (1 good friend of mine's been using it for YEARS), or sunflower oil!
