A big Indiana buck runs from the burst of an infrared trail camera placed on one of Don Mulligan’s food plots. Mulligan believes all cameras spook big bucks and shouldn’t be used in a hunting spot.

Motion sensing trail cameras are easily one of the biggest innovations in the world of hunting. More than any other tool, they are responsible for the harvest of deer that would have otherwise never been seen.

Building and hanging deer stands is one of my least favorite parts of deer hunting. Combine the heat, pollen, bugs and poison ivy, and it’s easily the most miserable job in the outdoor sports.

The Quality Deer Management Association held its ninth annual convention in July at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, Ky. More than 20,000 deer enthusiasts attended, setting an attendance record for the organization.
