FREMONT — The Pokagon Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is planning its annual Women In the Outdoors (WITO) event on Saturday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the rural home of Ann and Frank Charlton in Fremont.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Daniel Weaver, 14, of Shipshewana earned first place in the black and white division of the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Youth Art Contest, which was judged during the NWTF’s 33rd annual Convention and Sport Show in Nashville. Weaver competed in group C, which was open to artists aged 12 to 14.

The Pokagon Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation hosted their annual banquet Saturday night, with more than 200 tickets sold and a rousing time had by all.

Cedar Creek Longbeards hold banquet PDF Print E-mail

Emily Silver, 6 1/2, flashes a big smile for the camera while she minds the egg toss game at the Cedar Creek Longbeards banquet Saturday night. Some of the eggs were boiled, but most were raw. Those who picked and tossed the right ones — boiled — won a chance for a free gun.

2.13FourH  Auburn 4-H Shooting Sports members Nate Myers, left, and Taylor Culbertson accept a check for $800 from John Rolison, president of the Cedar Creek Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. The money will go toward equipment for the popular program, according to Shooting Sports coordinator Max Wallace.

John Galligher, a senior at Cornerstone Christian School in Auburn, won a $500 scholarship from the Cedar Creek Longbeards Saturday night.

AUBURN — The DeKalb County Cedar Creek Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation celebrated its 15th annual hunting heritage banquet Saturday. About 125 attendees were present for dinner, an awards program, games and live auction.
