WASHINGTON — Migratory Bird Conservation Commission members Congressman John Dingell (Mich.) and Robert Wittman (Va.) introduced legislation in Congress to increase the availability and buying power of the Federal Duck Stamp — a move designed to continue the success that the stamp has had in conserving waterfowl habitat across the United States.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Ducks Unlimited received a check for $285,200 from the National Shooting Sports Foundation at the 74th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference in Arlington, Va. The money will go directly toward the “Rescue the Duck Factory” campaign to conserve critical waterfowl breeding habitat in the Prairie Pothole Region, helping to ensure the future of waterfowl hunting and waterfowl populations in North America.

WASHINGTON — Ducks Unlimited commends President Obama’s proposed increase of $10 million to the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA), one of the most successful conservation programs in history. The fiscal year 2010 budget request is a nearly 25 percent increase over the FY 2009 request.

WASHINGTON — This past weekend symbolized a missed opportunity for waterfowl, wildlife, and taxpayers when the deadline to opt-in to Sodsaver passed. Governors of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and Iowa declined to participate in the provision of the 2008 Farm Bill, which would remove incentives to cultivate native prairie.
