Festivals


Community festivals throughout Noble County attract thousands of visitors during the year.

Nearly every city and town has at least one festival during the year where people eat, play games, participate in activities and enjoy live entertainment.

Many festivals have themes.

Several communities have smaller events, not regularly scheduled, whose dates were not available at the time of this publication.

Following is a list of the scheduled festivals and other celebrations in Noble County:

ALBION

Chain O' Lakes Festival — June 3-June 7.

July 4th Celebration, kids games and fireworks — July.

Harvest Fest — September.

AVILLA

Avilla Days — June 27 and 28.

St. Mary's Labor Day Festival — Labor Day Monday.

CROMWELL

Cromwell Days — July

KENDALLVILLE


Spring Craft Bazaar — March 8, Kendallville Park Department.

Home & Garden Show — March 15-16, Convention Center

Bluegrass Festivals — Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association spring festival, Memorial Day weekend May 22-25, and fall festival, Labor Day weekend Aug. 28-31. 31. Both held at the Noble County Fairgrounds in Kendallville.

Windmill Festival — June at the Windmill Museum

Independence Day Celebration — July 4 at Bixler Lake Park. Games and races for children and adults, flea market, food booths, live entertainment and fireworks over the lake.

Noble County Community Fair — Showcasing 4-H and community exhibits, amusement rides, midway food booths and games, live entertainment, at the Noble County Fairgrounds, July 5-12.

Apple Festival of Kendallville — Oct. 4 and 5 at the Noble County Fairgrounds and Main Street Village in downtown Kendallville. Festival highlights include live entertainment, food, primitive area and pioneer demonstrations, games, antiques and crafts.

Kendallville Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade — Nov. 29.

KIMMELL

Country music festival — June.

Old Trappers Days — October.

LIGONIER

Marshmallow Festival — Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30 and 31 and Sept. 1 and 2.

Stone's Trace Festival — Sept. 6 and 7, Stone's Trace Museum.

Pumpkin Fantasyland — Oct. 1-31, Lincolnway West.

ROME CITY

Gene Stratton-Porter Birth-day/Chautauqua Days - August at the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historical Site on Sylvan Lake and in Rome City. A parade, amusement rides, food booths, children games, softball tournament, historic site tours and rides on the Princess paddle boat on Sylvan Lake are among the highlights. Chautauqua Days events include: Chautauqua Days Parade — Aug. 16; Sylvan Rodders Car show — Aug. 16; Chautauqua Days — Aug. 16 and 17. Other events at the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historical Site during the year include: Wildflower Walk (Spring Family Fun Day) — May 3; Limberlost North Water Day (Fishing and Swamp Stomp) — June 14; Fall Family Fun Night — Oct. 11; Holiday Open House — Nov. 15 and 16.

WOLF LAKE

Sketching Workshop — Merry Lea Environmental Center, May 3 and 4.

Country music festival — June.

Wolf Lake Onion Days Festival — August.

Harvest Fest — September.

Merry Lea Sunflower & Craft Festival — September.
